    2017 FCA COMPETITION DATES FINALISED/h3>

The two important zonal championships in Asia for the year 2017 has been finalised.

The 2017 Asian Juniors and Cadet Fencing Championships to be held in Bangkok Thailand is scheduled for February 24 to March 5, 2017. It may be remembered that the Amateur Fencing Association of Thailand submitted a bid to host the 2016 AJCFC together with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain during the 2014 FCA General Assembly in Manila. AFAT decided to withdraw their bid after Saudi Arabia appealed for support in an effort to give an opportunity for Saudi female fencers to be allowed to play in an international competition for the first time. In the same token, Bahrain agreed to jointly organise the 2016 AJCFC, with the Bahraini Kingdom hosting the women events.

On the other hand, Hong Kong will organise the Asian Fencing Championships on June 25 to 30, 2017. This will be the first time that Hong Kong is organising an Asian zonal competition, though Hong Kong organises yearly invitational fencing competitions and was a regular host during the 1970s to the early 1980s of the Oceanic Fencing Championships.
