    BAHRAIN JUNIOR WORLDCUP A SUCCESS

    The second Junior Epee World Cup in Bahrain held at the AlKhalifa Sports City in Manama City was successfully with more participating athletes and countries. A total of 105 fencers (66 men and 39 women) representing 26 countries from Asia, Africa and Europe competed in the Men's and Women's Individual events.

    Jakub JUBKA from the Czech federation won the gold medal beating British Owen JORDAN (15-9). Another British fencer Mathew COOPER and Italian Giulio GAETANI each won the bronze medals in the Men's Epee Individual event.

    In the women's Epee Individual event, Croatian Paula JUKIC clinched the gold medal after beating British Laura SHEFFIELD (15-14) breaking the tie after the lapse of the regulation time. Sharing the bronze were Karoline LOIT of Estonia and Lma HUZAYEN of Egypt.

    FCA President Celso DAYRIT represented FIE President Alisher USMANOV as the main guest, and supported by Bahrain Fencing Association Sheikh Ebrahim AL KHALIFA. Also gracing the after were the Crown Prince Sheikh NASSER AL KHALIFA and Queen Hayat Bint Abdelaziz AL KHALIFA.
