ASIA'S BIG 3 SURIVES IN TORUN

Korea, Japan and China combined to win 2 Silver medals and 7 Bronzes in the just concluded World Fencing Championships for Junior and Cadet, held in Torun Poland. After nine days of competition, Asian fencers failed to gain a gold medal finish in a disappointing competition compared to last year's edition in Verona Italy.

Korea's HONG SEIN went home with a Silver medal in the Women's Foil Cadet individual event, while the Japanese women's Foil Team proved worthy also with a Silver medal finish. All other medalists finished with a Bronze, 4 for Korea, 2 for Japan and 1 for China.

The bronzes for Korea were made by KIM SIENUN in the women's Epee Junior individual event, PARK JIHEE in the women's Foil Junior individual event, LEE DOHUN in the Men's Saber Junior individual event, and the Women's Foil Team.

Japan finished with Bronze medals courtesy of FOJIKURA RUI in the men's Foil Junior individual event, while UENO Yuka in the women's Foil Junior individual event. Yuka Ueno won the gold medals in both the Cadet and Juniors Foil individual events in the 2018 World Championships in Verona Italy.
