In the recently concluded Asian Juniors and Cadets Fencing Championships held in Amman, Jordan, Korea led all federations in the medal tally after winning 11 gold medals, 7 silvers and 10 bronzes. Korean fencers scored the highest in the junior events with a 6 gold medal record, while it tied with Japan in the Cadet events with 5 gold medals each.

A total of more than 700 fencers representing 30 countries from Asia and Oceania participated in the biggest ever Asian youth fencing competition. Japan came in second overall with a slate of 7 gold medals, 5 silvers, and 12 bronzes owing largely to its strong finish in the Cadet events which gathered for itself 5 gold medals, 2 silvers and 7 bronzes. Team China followed in third place overall with 4 gold medals, 5 silvers, and 10 bronzes. Noteworthy to mention is the historic run of the Singaporean women's Foil fencers which won the gold medals in both the women's Juniors Foil individual and team events.
