Tian Xiao is a former Chinese sabre fencer, born in August 1955 in the Anhui Province.
He undertook his studies in fencing at the Beijing Sports University from 1977 to 1980. He set out in sports administration by working for the Chinese Fencing Association from 1981 to 1998; since 2004, he has been its Vice-President. Tian Xiao worked from 1998 to 2002 for the Administration Centre for Winter Olympic sports, and since 2005 he has been Vice-President of the Chinese Olympic Committee.
From 2003 to 2005, he worked in the Chinese General Administration of Sports and since 2005 he has been the Vice-Minister of this organisation. Within the International Fencing Federation, he was appointed Member of Honour of the FIE in 2007.
